Firefighters worked through the night to tackle a fire affecting two farm buildings in Cornwall.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Services said they were "fighting the fire to stop it spreading to other buildings" after crews were called to the Trewennack side of Helston on Friday at about 18:30 BST.

Back-up was requested with eight crews attending, as well as a specialist hazardous materials and environmental protection officers.

Members of the public were asked to avoid the area and nearby residents were advised to "keep their windows and doors closed at this time".

At 06:30 BST on Saturday, the service said the incident had been "scaled back to appliances and the water carrier continuing to turnover and damp down".
