Railway services which run through Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire were delayed after an electrical fault was discovered on a train.

Cambridgeshire Fire Service was called to track near St Neots, to reports of an electrical fault that set off a fire alarm.

Crews attended and electricity to the lines was switched off so checks could be carried out. A Grand Central train was moved to St Neots railway station and the line has since reopened, although disruption was expected until 21:00 BST.

Operators Thameslink and Great Northern said: "Trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised."
