Abbey Farm is associated with conservation of wet grasslands and the recreation of dry grasslands using seeds gathered from the local area.

The most numerous bird to visit Flitcham is the Pink-footed Goose. Up to 20,000 visit Abbey Farm and some individuals come back year after year.

The main attraction, Pink-footed Geese, are only present at certain times. For information about whether geese are on the farm please see the Abbey Farm wildlife page on our website . The farm's bird hide overlooks wetlands, pasture and scrub where you can see Snipe, Little Owl, Teal, Tree Sparrow and Buzzard.

Abbey Farm is a working business. Please keep to public roads and marked foot paths.

Footpaths:
There is just one footpath on Abbey Farm. This is not a public right of way and is only open at certain times of the year, to avoid disturbance to wintering wild geese and nesting birds.

Open access: There are two areas of meadowland which are open to the public throughout the year. These areas are suitable for dog walking, but always keep your dogs under control.

Disabled access: There is a small car parking area within 50 yards of a bird hide. Access paths and the viewing facilities are suitable for wheelchair users.

Getting there:

Flitcham is located approx. 10km north east of King's Lynn close to the 148 King's Lynn to Cromer Road.

Drive towards Flitcham village, and turn right after the bus shelter onto Abbey Road. Carry on for half a mile until you reach the farm buildings. Just beyond these buildings on the right is a sign to the car park near the public bird hide.
