Launching on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three on Sunday 5 April, the series will give viewers an exclusive, access-all-areas pass to the inner workings of the modelling industry in the UK, and across the world.
Episode one
The industry is changing and the edgy, diverse ‘Manchester look’ is in demand. Mancunian agency Nemesis is on the lookout for a roster of new talent to join the ranks of the global supermodel elite. But there’s a no-nonsense policy - if you mess up, you’re out; succeed and you’re made for life.
Today they’re looking for two new models to add to their books. They’ll be put through their paces by the management team, coached by professionals to achieve the perfect shot, and attitudes checked to see who’s got what it takes.
Among the hopefuls is 17 year-old Ethan, who has been in and out of young offender institutions for years. Ethan knows that being picked up by Nemesis could get him out of the cycle of crime and give him a fast track to a new life.
Building labourer Jordan is also waiting anxiously to be called. This is a brand new world for him and he’s out of his comfort zone. Can he pull it together in time to make it through?
Already on the books is Ruby, who grew up in one of the most deprived areas in England. She’s only been modelling for a few months and is already earning over £10,000 a month. The top bosses at the agency think she might even be able to crack America.
Episode two
Model agencies are on the lookout for new superstars to bring in success. They know clients want more relatable models and guys with the ‘Manchester look’ are in demand. First up is aspiring model Ellis, from East Manchester’s notorious Hattersley Estate, who is determined to get more from life. This is the chance he’s been waiting for.
Building labourer Jordan’s back at work after his first shoot with a major sports brand. He’s interrupted at the building site by a phone call from Agency Director Nigel, who wants to take him out for a taste of the life he could achieve, if he grafts hard enough.
Meanwhile Ethan walks out of Nemesis after receiving some upsetting news, and professional model Ruby’s made a mistake that could cost her her career...
Episode three
Building labourer Jordan is off to London for his biggest job yet, while Ruby heads stateside for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in Miami. She’s never been to America before and can’t believe her luck. Miami’s top agency has arranged a test shoot for her and Ruby’s determined to impress.
Nemesis are left asking questions when Ellis doesn’t make it in time for an important casting.
And boss Nigel asks Ethan to change his look: Nigel thinks Ethan’s hiding behind his hair and could shine after a haircut. But after a delivery arrives in the post, Ethan quickly realises he’s got bigger problems to deal with.
Episode four
Ethan’s past has come back to haunt him - but will it affect his future with Nemesis?
Modelling has opened building labourer Jordan’s eyes to new goals in life: he starts to make plans to move out of his mum’s house and find a flat of his own, but the nature of his new modelling career means work is not always regular. Can he afford to keep up with the modelling and move into the new flat?
Since missing a casting to look after his dad, Ellis has had no new modelling offers. He heads out to the streets to see if he can find a new job to pay the bills and support his number one priority - his family.
Nemesis invite seasoned model Nathan to mentor their new recruits, giving them the tips and tricks of the trade, including how to pose during shoots.
Meanwhile Ruby’s back at home and still reeling from her trip to Miami. It looks like lifestyle she’s always seen on TV is now within her reach. But if Ruby’s selected, she’ll have to make some huge life decisions.
