This week, as hockey’s 2015 European Championships are awarded to London and the Olympic Park, #olympicthursday from 成人快手 Sport becomes ‘Hockey Thursday’:

Kate Walsh (Text and video)

A succession of football and cricket captains have come and gone in the nine years Kate Walsh, 31, has led the English and British women’s hockey teams. 成人快手 Sport profiles her journey: from taking the armband in 2003 as GB failed to even qualify for Athens 2004, through to leading one of the world’s finest hockey teams in 2012, and all the physical and mental anguish in between. Plus access to Kate’s own video archive of a year with her British team-mates.

GB can win gold, say Dutch team (Text)

One of Walsh’s opposite numbers, the captain of the world number one Dutch hockey team, tells 成人快手 Sport that GB can win hockey gold at the Olympics this summer. But Maartje Paumen adds: “London is not far from home in the Netherlands, so I’m sure there will be lots of orange in the crowd too…”

Dribbling the marathon (Text)

成人快手 Sport speaks to two members of the British hockey team’s coaching staff, each intent on dribbling a hockey ball around this year’s London Marathon. How do you practice for that unique challenge, what do the team think, how will they cope with the backache, and what happens if they lose a ball?

Also this week…

Chrissie Wellington – triathlon

成人快手 Sport speaks to the four-time Ironman world champion. Why did she give up on her ambition to become an Olympic triathlon star in favour of the longer-distance race? Text, audio available
