As part of the promotional campaign for Gilmour’s single, the former Pink Floyd man is offering the winner of an online vote for the best version of the track a free day recording at the legendary studios, plus a new band logo, drawn by Pink Floyd and ex-Hipgnosis designer Storm Thorgerson. For lead singer Michelle, the chance to get involved was just too much to pass up. "The chance to pay our own small homage to the mighty Floyd by reworking their Sixties' classic and hoisting it firmly into the 21st Century was irresistible!" That said, it was the lure of the prize that got the band’s attention too, as Michelle explained. "The idea of treading in the footsteps of the industry's legends and making music at the world's most famous recording studios - well, that's the stuff dreams are made of!!"

And if you’re still wondering whether a cover version should get you such a prize, it’s worth bearing in mind that Gilmour’s own version, complete with backing vocals from David Bowie, is a reworking of Floyd’s own 1967 original! |
