Hounslow is one London borough that will be heavily disrupted by the proposed teacher's strike on Thursday. The council estimates over 17,000 students' lessons will be disrupted. It's possible that some students will be sent home on the day. Headteachers have been under pressure to organise themselves after returning from the Easter Break. The teacher's union the NUT are striking over 2.24% pay offer, that's above the 2% limit Prime Minister, Gordon Brown wants on public sector pay increases.
