About UsYou are in: London > Radio > 94.9 Information > About Us > The Heart Strings Let them tug on yours: The Heart Strings The Heart StringsThe Heart Strings play a kind of pop so enchanting you'll feel like you've been pulled into the centre of the Earth by Alice and woken up in Neverland. Together for two years, The Heart Strings are bringing some seriously beguiling sounds out of North London where they're based in Finchley. This is a band of story loving lyricists, brass and a brittle tapping of the ivories. "I have a tale, but not a tale. Like Felius Domesticum" begins single and London Calling track Nina and Her Very Long Hair. Influenced by Roald Dahl and Bowie's glitter pop in equal measure, the band's alternative streak and boundless creativity flood the ears with every track on the newly finished album, Try Fly Blue Sky. Somewhat in a World of their own The Heart Strings tell London Calling that finishing the album in June of this year has been the highlight of their career to date, not to mention the guilt-free celebratory liquor as a result. We also hear that, although no plans have been confirmed for a cover, The Heart Strings would like to think they could pull one off as well as Kate Bush's Rocket Man. We like the cut of their jib and no mistake. Available for download, you can get both album and single by visiting the band's decidedly other worldly website at theheartstrings.com (see links, right). last updated: 21/02/2008 at 16:47 You are in: London > Radio > 94.9 Information > About Us > The Heart Strings Podcast[an error occurred while processing this directive] Podcast[an error occurred while processing this directive] |
