Bishop
Goss school - taken around 1950. Cathie is on the far left at
the front. |
"I
remember with great fondness my days at Bishop Goss school, Grosvenor
St.
"I
was painfully shy in those days and very quiet, so probably not
many people remember me.
" My name was Catherine Haake and my brothers were Michael,
James and Peter, and my parents were Kitty (nee Noone)听and Con and
we lived in Addison Street, off Scotland road.
" The teachers that I remember were Miss Lunt, Miss Birchall
Mr. Norton and Sister Agnes (a lovely lady).
" Bishop Goss was the infants and junior school.听 The senior
school was called St. Josephs as was the church. I didn't go on
to the senior school as I went to Notre Dame, Everton Valley when
I was 11.
"Names
I remember from Bishop Goss听are Catherine McDonald (her father owned
a sweet shop next to the presbytery-the priest's house), Margaret
Daly, Margaret Cunningham."
