Susan Carmichael
Match reports from all the Liverpool girls games played on the 17th September.

Under 10s A team

The under 10's got off the season to an excellent start with a 6 -0 win over Everton B team. The girls worked well together and players took their turn in goal and kept a clean sheet. Ashley PorschkeÌý scored and excellent goal whilst Olivia Bunni did a good stint in nets. Emily Rizzotti and Sophie Unsworth showed their year’s experience from last seasonÌý during the game with some good passing and support for the team in play.

Under 10 B team

The young B team’s game against Fitwell Girls was a game of two halves. Liverpool playing with just 6 players put up a good effort first half, but the in experience of the team meant that Fitwell went well ahead withÌý a 6 – 0 lead. Despite that the team had a rejuvenated second half, Lauren davenport worked very well in defence and Jameliah BenjaminÌý doing her bit in goal was very brave. The second half was a 1- 1 draw with Ria Clarke scoring the reds goal.

Under 12A team

The 12's first game of the season was against Our Lady’s who were strong andÌý provided a constantÌý resistance. Jenny Rogers lead the way withÌý the scoring and dramaticsÌý and linked up with Rachel Miranda’s selfless mid field play. Our Lady’s pulled it back to 2 -1 , but when the reds worked to pass they looked very promising. Paige Williams was set up to score two well taken goals and Becky Ainscough had a flying run down the right to finish a well deserved goal. Our Lady’sÌýÌý pulled another back ,but Liverpool held on well to their lead.

Under12 B team

The 12B team took on Tranmere and in patches showed a lot of the promise that the team have got. Katie Bowers Folan and Georgia Kearney were again defending well, but just got over ran on occasions and the team despite some chances couldn’t pull them selves into the game with a goal. The goals will come as the team find tehri feet at this level and players like Emma FitzimmonsÌý and Ellie Moss who both had lively games areÌý just able to finish off a goal or two.Ìý Final score 5 -0 Tranmere.

Under 14b Team.

The B team against Paris didn’t play their best for the first half, but did finish well to put them ahead at half time. Paris always work well and put up a strong match, but today Liverpool and the quick shooting boots of Lauren O Grady with four goalsÌýÌý were able to overcome their resistance. Still a team getting to know each other Sophie Jones and Kaley Manning added two goals a piece and Loiuse Fillingham was rewarded for her well worked wide play with a goal too.Ìý Final score 9 -0

Under 14A team

With their new coach to impress the A team took on Our Ladys. The team were kept on their toes by the opposition and with the new manager’s demands of them in the game. The team worked well together for a 9 -0 win with goals coming from Emma Harrison ( 3) , Charlotte Ross ( 4) , Chelcee Grimes and Amy Kennedy.Ìý Ashleigh Sarjeant made an impressive mid field contribution with some of her distribution and Lauren Clinton made a welcome come back after a toe nail polish injury.
