Presenter/Producer (Broadcast Journalist) – Part time Contract to July 2009 Ref: 478762 ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio Leicester provides a lively mix of music and talk reflecting the diverse lives of people who live in our patch.Ìý We broadcast from a state of the art building in the heart of the city and reach nearly 170,000 people.Ìý The weekly magazine programme for Caribbean listeners is an established and important part of the station's schedules. You'll present the weekly Sunday evening programme ensuring lively debate and local connections. You'll work with the team to generate ideas and produce programme material, developing a fresh new sound and format.Ìý You'll also operate the studio desk.Ìý
You'll have presentation experience with a clear understanding of issues affecting the local black community.Ìý You'll need to have radio production and presenting experience; strong editorial judgement and an excellent broadcasting voice as well as the willingness to undergo training.Ìý You must be well organised; resilient and enthusiastic and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.Ìý You must also have a clear understanding of the local radio audience and a sense that your output and ideas transfer to other programmes. You will also be willing to develop web skills. In order to apply for this role, you must submit a non returnable demo tape with your application form.Ìý This demo tape should be no more than 5 minutes in length and demonstrate your presentation experience.Ìý This needs to arrive by 13:00 on the close date.Ìý Details of where to send this are on the application form.
