Finding the right people to take part in an event that comprises both fashion and entertainment plays a key part in the success of a show like Nasha (hosted by Asian Rain).

"I'm already quite familiar with Asian culture and traditions and feel a show like this will appeal to a wide audience."

Models for this show come from all over the Leicester area, and with their unique looks and styles, bring an authentic memorable look to the stage of Asian Rain.

Two models gave their views on what it's like to be part of a show that started as something small and is revolutionising the way in which people in the Leicester community view fashion.

Hot Off The Catwalk

Jeet Karia said, "The thing that attracted me most to Asian Rain is the fact that I got the opportunity to enter the modelling industry as this is something I have always wanted to do.

"Asian Rain provides the means to make the UK public aware of the wonderful world of the Asian culture and to share this with a wider multicultural audience."

The models were enthusiastic about, the founder of Asian Rain, Bijal Parmar's involvement in the show.

Sharon Desilva Matthews said, "I was so embarrassed at first, but Bijal soon made me feel at ease; working with her was a really interesting enjoyable experience".

Models, Friends, Culture

Although Nasha was created to provide all round entertainment and awareness of multicultural existence in Leicester, it is important for the models in the show to feel confident about working with one another.

As Bijal said, "It's so crucial that my models feel comfortable with one another and can work well as a team, this way it builds up the confidence of the group and that is essential to making Asian Rain a success".

So how has the experience of working with Asian Rain benefited these models in a personal sense?

Sharon stated, "It's been a great experience for me.

"Not only have I made friends with models of all different backgrounds and culture. I'm already quite familiar with Asian culture and traditions. I feel a show like this will appeal to a wide audience - creating an awarness of other cultures. Shows like Naasha consist of so much more than just a catwalk show."
