And then to bed

Once in Italian cafe, I ordered latte thinking I would be getting coffee with milk. I felt like a child sipping hot milk that I actually ordered, while my friend was laughing at me enjoying her cappuccino.

I work at Starbucks and on the menu the drinks are listed in their full and correct forms such as 'caffe latte' and 'caffe mocha'. People just say 'latte' because it's easier and faster and we know what they mean.

Yes, I saw this word "latte" in a supermarket when I was in Italy, then I realized this would be confusing for people who want coffee.

If you like Starbucks latte in England....in Italy you have to order "un latte macchiato" it's the nearest you'll get to a very milky coffee.,

If you want to order "coffee with milk" you have to order caffè latte. Cappuccino is not exactely a caffè latte , but its made with coffe and milk.

Latte in Italian means "milk"... so you ordered milk! It's a problem of Starbucks, not of the Italian language!
