Eventualmente and eventually (English/Italian)

I was studing along with English friends at a course taught in English, and the teacher told and eventually we did this, etc. I thought that eventually was equal to the Italian eventualmente, but it is not! Eventualmente stands for in case of, in the event of, i.e. something that might, or might not, happen. Now I got the difference. Cheers.
