It actualy shipwrecked closer to cleveleys, in the first few weeks of it's "crash" i spent most of my time taking trips to the beach to spend time with a girl, countless people from all over came to see it. it's not just a boat. it's a symbol of Cleveleys/Blackpool, a symbol of rebirth. riverdance got chopped up and buried, but in its death arose a monument. a monument which stands for all the towns surrounding it. a new clevelys/Blackpool is being formed, bigger, better, than ever before! : )

I WAS THERE WHEN THE FERRY WAS GOING OVER I HAVE EVEN GOT VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE RESCUE IT WAS NOT SCARY BECAUSE I WAS IN THE BLACKPOOL TOWER AT THE TOP WATCHING IT ALL HAPPEN IT WAS COOL

how sad to see such a lovely big ship in distress ....my pal george have been to view her a few times ..and people we have met..mostly local people .. also feel sympathy for the way she has ended up ......riverdance will ong be remembered xx

Shortly after the Riverdace was wrecked, a mother and her kids stopped me in Blackpool town centre and asked directions to the ferry. I sent them to Knott End

When i first saw it on the news i realy felt sorry for the people on there. But a couple of weeks ago i found out my dad and grandparents was on the boat (James Mcgivern Dad) and i thank the RAF for rescuing them beacuse the boat Could of capsised and killed them so im so thankful that they got there in time!

just back from a week at blackpool, the view from my window meant i could see the riverdance from my window,so after a few days i went down to see it but wasn't allowed near it,the latest i heard was that it's going to be broke up.

The problem is they acted to late. It's typical, if they had salvaged it within the first week or two it would of been much easier whearas now its 100 degrees in the sand. Typical Blackpool

SUBDAY 6/04/08,JUST COME BACK FROM VIEWING THE RIVERDANCE,QUITE IMPRESSIVE SITE,RIGHT ON IT'S SIDE NOW. CAN NOT SEE HOW THEY ARE GONNA MOVE IT.BLACKPOOL COUNCIL SHOULD PAY TO MAKE IT SAFE!THEN USE IT HAS A TOURIST ATTRACTION. IT CERTAINLY BRINGING IN THE PUNTERS,IT COULD ALSO MAKE AN ARTIFICAL REEF MORE SEA WILDLIFE, ANY ENTREPENERS OUT THERE.

we went to have a look at the riverdance 3 days after it got stuck!if ezenbard brunnell or robert louis stevenson were alive today they would have chained it up from the shoreline,and winched it up levvel within a day !

The bad weather means the ferry is sinking into the sand. We believe the salvagers are now looking at moving the ferry next week. Watch the video at the top right hand side of this page to see the latest news!

considering the army of personell manning the exclusion zone and removing trailers,yesterday the beach north of the ship was litttered with plastic cups and some sort of lagging material.

Why has nobody reported the item washed up on Fleetwood beach which was recovered by people wearing protective clothing and are the children who were seen playing near it safe from hazards?

Hadn't realised how near to the sea front the ship was. Traffic is still busy northbound on the prom going up to Anchorsholme as far back as the Gynn roundabout so I wasn't tempted to go and have a look!

The beach at cleveleys is now covered in mcvities half covered chocolate biscuits from the Riverdance, Its not Whisky Galore, more like Biscuit Galore!
