FactFormer England, Wigan Athletic and Everton defender, David Unsworth, came through the CLJFL ranks playing for Euxton Villa during the 1980s. The deal, which will see an extra £1500 injected into facilities and equipment for youths across Preston, will mean the league is renamed the 'Preston Bus Central Lancashire Junior Football League' (CLJFL) for the 2007/08 season. Managing Director of Preston Bus, Peter Bell said: "The League has a wonderful heritage and Preston Bus is keen for this to continue and is delighted to be the main sponsor for the 2007/08 season." Chairman of the Preston Bus CLJFL, Mr Bill Hacking, said: "The Central Lancashire Junior Football League is proud to be associated with Preston Bus and we are grateful for their sponsorship of our league in the coming season.Ìý "The assistance given by our sponsors greatly contributes to over 3000 young players being able to play football in a safe and structured environment." CLJFL has been established since 1978 and the sponsorship is part of Preston Bus’ ‘Under 16s travel for 60p’ commitment to the community. Over 200 teams play in the Preston Bus CLJFL, with the 3000 players competing in leagues and cups from Under 10 to Under 16 level.
