Two teachers from the county received accolades in the North West Teaching Awards at the Lowry. Gaynor Stubbs from Wensley Fold Primary, Blackburn and Laura Johnston from Lancaster Road Primary School, Morecambe won awards.

So what makes a teacher so good? Maria Felix Vas went to Wensley Fold Primary to get the lowdown on Mrs Stubbs...

David Saville followed on with Ted's "midges" theme by going to Midge Hall near Leyland where he met up with two local characters.

Keith Henderson听 - the landlord of local pub - and Bill Swires who has lived there all his life talked about the history behind the name Midge Hall.听 That led on to Sod Hall Lane...and then to Bill's unusual occupation as the only ostrich keeper in Midge Hall...

After weeks of uncertainty Accrington Stanley fans can finally look forward with more hope and belief.

Poor finances, dwindling gates, a betting scandal and the possibility of seeing the club wound-up all cast a dark cloud over Accrington Stanley recently.

However, the announcement that Dave O'Neill has become majority shareholder, has ended any fears the League Two side would be consigned to history.

O'Neill and Chief Executive Rob Heys, joined Phil Cunliffe to reflect on recent events...

TV actor Bruce Jones - who played Les Battersby in Coronation Street - joined Ted Robbins to tell him about a new TV series on homelessness. The show involved him and other celebrities experiencing what it's really like to be homeless in Britain today...

Monday's challenge was arm wrestling. Two times world and European champion Neil Pickup came into the studio to give Brett some tips...

Ted Robbins got stuck into a variety of locally grown veggies when he was joined in the studio by the Wareing family from Tarleton - vegetable growers who have just been nominated Independent Fresh Produce Retailer of the year.听

Clive and Debbie showed Ted what's what; and told him why a bit of muck won't do any harm...

Eleanor Levin, who's sitting in for Joe whilst he's in Nashville,听woke Joe up early in his hotel room to pass on our congratulations...
