What is wrong with Radio Lancashire listeners? It is clear that pep is the winner by far whether he wins this competition or not!! Although he would certainly be good for Radio Lancashire in terms of publicity and promoting the stations name, it seems from all the comments his pure talent would be wasted and not at all appreciated by the closed minded listeners. Why is everyone so scared of change? Because that's certainly what pep is.....a change to the dull tones that the station already has. Radio Lancashire needs someone who is going to appeal to a range of ages, rather than just appealing to the people that already listen.

I've only recently met Steve and he is very unassuming. he deserves to win purely on his talent, he has a better voice for radio lancs than the opposition and is naturally funny not exhausting!! he doesn't have an ego the size of lancashire and it would be fantastic if an ordinary bloke won. come on Everyone, we are all going to have to pull out ALL the stops (and then some) to pull this out of the bag for Steve. I don't normally listen to Radio Lancashire.....but after hearing pep was in the final five curiousity got the better of me!! Pep is definately what the station needs, he would promote the station off air as well as on!! The other candidates are radio lancashire material without a doubt, but what the listeners want is someone that will make them really want to listen. Pep certainly will as he is unpredictable and you never know what's going to happen next!! I love the way he values the opinion of the audience and makes them part of the show. WOW a bit of life back into lancashire! PEP was like a breath of fresh air on Monday, as a young listener i usually find it boring to listen to at work but if PEP was on i would definately tune in. Stephens peter kay accent is just too much unless you listen whilst wearing your cloth cap or having your weekly blue rinse done! Does Radio Lancashire not realise that there is an army of us young listeners who like local radio stations with presenters who are bubbly , controversial and dare to be different....so to the 'disgruntled radio lancashire listener' i would just like to say maybe us young people have heard of radio lancashire but prefer to listen to other stations because the presenters shows don't appeal to us?! and yes radio lancashire want someone who will appeal to their current listeners but surely they want someone who will also appeal to and bring new listeners and spread the stations name.....which PEP is evidently already doing??

I'm as keen as the next person to win but let's not lose our sense of perspective. Yesterday 60 staff at Leyland Rubber Ltd lost their jobs a fortnight before Christmas. Getting evicted from 'The Gift' doesn't really compare.

though I no longer reside in england i am still an avid fan of radio lancashire and have been watching this competition with interest. Can someone please tell me how you can prove that it is us radio lancashire listeners that actually choose the winner? I feel the voting process is unfair, as watching the voting it seems that people are just sitting pressing vote time and again, it takes hundreds of votes to alter the numbers by 1%. Although i don't know if catherine would have won in the end I wonder if she lost just because she didn't know enough people to keep pressing buttons through the night for her. I want steve to win, but to win on his merit not in a mad rush of people glued to their computers for hours on end. good luck steve you DO deserve to win!

Overnight, she had miraculously gone from bottom place to second place after an amazing number of votes flooded in late last night. I was reading all about The Gift on the website between 10.30pm and 11pm and noticed around 500 votes come in for her in the space of just a few minutes, giving her 21% of the vote - I couldn't believe my eyes!

The voting process is flawed, DJ Pep is using myspace, tv screens in Squires and Lava and Ignite nightclubs to encourage people to vote for him, in which case, most of these people wont even have heard of Lancashire Radio and wont even be in the Lancashire area on New Year's day as they are all students. We want someone on the airwaves who are reflective of the market that listen to Radio lancashire.

The Gift Experience was one to treasure. It was a great insight into the life of Radio Presenters - thanks so much for the time spent with us. I felt the team at Radio Lancashire were totally fair in their assessments and knew exactly what they were looking for. I think amongst the five finalists - they have got it. I had had some bad news on the morning of the '10 day' and I know it affected me at the time - but, as radio presenters I am sure that life does not run smoothly for yourselves either, and you have to learn to cover it up. That is another hidden skill. I would like to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, and if I was there I would give you all a great big hug too. You are lovely human beings.
