Live its just me - Des Basterfield, guitar and vocals, joined by friends for some gigs. On the record I play everything I can get my hands on.

Bargain hunting and an addiction to the Dolphin Chippy, Fleetwood for tea on Wednesdays

What's the band's history so far?

Self released debut album Camarillo Heights on www.songsmithrecords.net in 2000, played all over since then especially around Manchester.

Style and influences?

Song and groove, Paul Simon, Lennon and McCartney, Bowie, West African guitar playing, touches of funk and hip hop.

Best moment so far?

Playing in the mountains at Spain's Rocket Festival and working with Cirque Idyllic at Stockton Festival.

Worst/most embarrassing moment so far?

I presented an hour on ITC radio showcasing tunes I'd recorded. The guy who was showing me how it all worked came in put down a pile of stuff on my running order.
Unfortunately he left the studio with me on air before I realised he'd taken my notes. It made the small studio even sweatier! Survived on the fly.

What's your favourite song? Or which song do you wish you'd written?

Favourite song at the moment is "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". It's one of those classic songs everyone knows though I've yet to meet anyone who can say who wrote it
