What's the band's history so far?

The band has been going for seven years now, but has only got going in the last two. WM originally consisted of members Chris (drums), Liam (Bass and Lead vocals), Simon (Rhythm Guitar), and Ben (Lead Guitar). After many years of tension between band members and temporary fill ins, the band pulled together a few starter gigs, at the Wesham community centre and the Carr Hill talent show. The band started taking its form with the most noticeable double bass drumkit and the 4 piece setup.

During the time where the members went into higher education, the band slipped into regress, as they were separated by distance and time; finding difficulty in writing new material and getting more gigs. Eventually Simon stepped down as the rhythm guitar player for WM.

With this the void had to be filled as the metal style of this band required the sound of two guitars. Luckily Liam met Steve at college, where they started jamming in Uncle G's guitar class. It didn't take long for them to realise that they were into the very same styles of metal and were influenced by the same artists. However, Steve had already met the other band members Chris and Ben (including Simon), where the relationship immediately kicked off. When Simon stepped down Steve was asked to join, this would mean Steve leaving his long struggling band project which had been going through different members like they were going out of fashion! It didn't take long for him to come to his senses and joined up.

With the current line up of WM now achieved, new the two self written songs and numerous cover songs were worked on and brought live to the first gig with the new member in front of the But Why? Bike club. The show marked a new style of live performance for the band, however it became apparent that more original songs were required. After the original 12bar gig, work was undertaken on new material. Newer styles were created whilst some songs kept to the same formula. It was becoming apparent that this music could not be generalised under one name as many styles were being created in the music, using influences from thrash, rock, and ballads.

The band are now in the recording process with enough new material to produce an album, however, a demo is in the pipeline at present. The recording is entirely self sufficient, as the band preferred the hands on experience of recording, mixing and mastering the material themselves, however, help would be provided in the mastering by Angel of Asylum. The recording is being taken place at the Mill, where the band have recently acquired a practice room, special thanks goes out to Angel and the rest of Asylum for their support on this front, apart from Dave! He knows why!!

We are now looking for gigs and trying to get our newly found presence out there.听 We have had a lot of help from people along the way, who we can only thank.听 The bands we've played with, the venues we've played at- all very supportive and helped make the experience of performing something great- motivation to carry on.
