Philip White is preparing to run three extreme marathons over the next few month, to raise money to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

His daughter Sarah has inspired him to run on the African savannah, at the North Pole, and down Mount Everest.

Sarah was a beautiful and brave young woman, who wouldn't let her debilitating condition affect those around her. Even when very ill in hospital, she was determined that those around her would not be upset by her condition. She would strap on her oxygen tanks and make her way into the bathroom to apply her make up before she would allow her friends to see her, just to make them feel better.

Her dad is carrying on where his daughter left off, and ran the first of his marathons, in Africa, at the end of June this year.听

Seaford half marathon

On Sunday 1st June, Philip ran in the Seaford half marathon as a warm up to his first big race in Africa. The weather may not have been quite as hot, but the terrain certainly tested the runners.
