Due to a long shift at work, there was only a couple of hours of sleep to spare before I would be setting off to one of the best festivals of the summer, Reading Festival. With mountains of bags to carry I knew this three hour journey would feel longer than my usual annual trips to the site.听 Its a comforting thought knowing that what you will be sleeping in is water and windproof, but not knowing where you will be sleeping for four days is a different matter. After a few changes at various stations and after traipsing across London whilst carrying my own bodyweight in clothes and equipment we finally arrived at Reading train station.

As I set up my tent I made sure it wasn't too close to the the pathway and the toilets, that by the third day smelt closer than looked! The weekend was a success with bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Maximo Park and The Rakes blowing the 80,000 crowd away. On the third day one band that stuck out for all of the festival goers, was the legendary thrash metal band Slayer. As my good friend Matt Jones is an avid fan of the band and having some time to waste, I decided to queue up to meet the sinister quartet at the NME signing tent. With their blasphemous image and their embracing nature of everything non-conformist, I was prepared for anything. Despite all my fears, after meeting them, I thought to myself, I couldn't have met a nicer bunch of guys.听 On the last day with my signed photo of Slayer in hand, I was ready to go home. Not being able to shower was starting to get to me and I was desperate to get back. Blast on 成人快手 2 Prior to the Reading Festival I was offered the chance to travel up to 成人快手 White City and visit the Blast team. Obviously I accepted听 the offer and the day after a weary Reading weekend I joined Blast for three days of filming and cutting. Unlike 成人快手 Television Centre across the road, White City contains most of the editing suits and production team for the 成人快手 programmes, which would explain why James May from Top Gear was sitting around the corner from me.

On the first day of filming I was asked to come along to a small shoot. I was told that the team would be filming a Free Runner. Having already featured in the 成人快手 Jump Britain programme, this guy was good. I was amazed to be seeing first hand the dangerous sport being performed. For most of the day the free runner nicknamed Sticky and the team were walking around parts of the concrete jungle known as London. Stunning flips and twists were being carried out from leaping onto just a vertical wall. After a long day filming, I was briefed that the next day would be even longer. A girl was about to get a tattoo done and the Blast team would be ready with their cameras to film it for the new Blast show. It was a great experience to be getting a detailed insight into the world of the 成人快手. After writing part of the script for the programme, we were ready to film. With a general fear of needles I was a bit nervous to be entering into the clinical smelling Happy Sailor tattoo parlour in Hackney. As we arrived the chair was set up for the tattoo. An elaborate design of a sacred heart a moon and a rocket shooting out of the top with fly me to the moon in archaic font overlapped the heart. The girl was obviously a keen Frank Sinatra fan. After a five hour wait for the tattoo to be completed, it was time to move on. I think after the first three hours watching the tattoo needle my fear of them was starting to drift. As my final week comes to a close, my last destination will be Birmingham. A few hours up the motorway to wave a final farewell to the blast team and my fellow blast reporters dotted around the country before I set sail for university. |
