In an effort to bolster the country's economy we gave six young entrepreneurs of the future the opportunity to show us what they were made of by taking on the role of 'apprentices'. Andy Comfort received a temporary knighthood for a day to become Breakfast's version of听 Sir Alan Sugar. He would judge which of the two teams of three came up with the best idea for a 15-20 second 'promo' or radio trailer for the show. The final year students from the University of Hull Business School between them are studying marketing, advertising and business. They were divided into two teams and set to work. Ably assisted by our very own 'Margaret' in the form of Ruth Barcroft. Ruth rendered technical assistance and 'voice talent'. Meet the teams.Sporty Talkie were made up of one male and two females who when asked to describe themselves said, 'driven', 'enthusiastic' and 'energetic'. But who was who? Listen to the clips on this page and guess who described themselves so. Jason Rumney is from Redbridge in Essex and claims to have seen Sir Alan Sugar's car on many occasions, so he thinks he has the right credentials. Bonnie Hatcher comes from near Ipswich and she's hoping with Andy hailing from the same area she can ingratiate herself with Sir Andy. Born in Hull but now based around Southampton Kirsty MacSween is hopeful her local connection will give her an edge. Lip Service are three women who individually described themselves as, 'excitable', 'ambitious' and ' dynamic'. Did they live up to their personalised descriptions? Cate Hargreaves is from Hull and is keen to impress. Thanks to her strong ties with the area she's no stranger to the sound of 成人快手 Humberside. Sophie Cull from Doncaster is another northerner with 'true grit' who wants to set the business world on fire. Nicola Lapworth is from beautiful Lancaster and hopes coming from a coastal area she has an affinity with the Hull's coastal heritage. Our Breakfast team rendered some assistance and Ruth in turn took the teams into the studios to help them 'realise' their ideas. Below you can hear the studio discussions the teams which took place ahead of recording and the 'voice session'. Once the teams had talked through their ideas and Ruth had provided the voice-overs for their respective efforts. Marcus Heald and Tim Johns 'realised' their ideas into a form suitable for broadcasting. The teams kept Breakfast listeners up-to-date throughout the programme and you can hear their updates by using the links below. For the final grilling they were brought into the studio for the final time and Andy gave his verdict on their submission. Listen below to hear what he had to say. Sport Talkie walked away with the prestigious prize of having their promo scheduled for play-out on the station. Lip Service sadly walked away hanging their heads in shame at not being able to please one of Britain's top broadcasters. You can hear both teams' efforts below. last updated: 26/03/2009 at 05:33 SEE ALSOYou are in: Humber > 成人快手 Radio Humberside > Programmes > You're Fired! |
