Are migrant workers changing this area for better or worse?
Maureen We have the same issues here in the USA with the Spanish people working and living illegally and not bothering to learn this country's native language and collecting all the benefits our country has to offer its own citizens.
Mary Shouldn't we force those sat on the unemployed list to fill the seasonal vacancies before employing people from other countries. I expect they won't be keen to take the jobs as they probably earn more in benefits doing nothing for the economy.
julian morris There should be limits on how many people enter the uk. The country will not cope at this rate.
Pat Groves Katie seemed to be surprised that the Polish people over here had made a big effort to learn English ! Surely, they are like the Dutch people & in fact most of the Scandinavian people, they all learn English in school from a very early age, after all it is an international language & it is important for them to have it as a second language. We are lazy about languages here as everybody speaks English all over the world !
