First to take to the courts was the Schools Competition, with 60 pairings representing 19 schools and colleges from across the Radio Solent area competing for, and in some cases successfully defending, one of the four titles up for grabs.听

Play continued all morning, with the finals taking place at about 1:30, by which time the competitors in the adults' competition had arrived.

The presentation to the finalists in the schools competition was made by Mike Sertin, Chair of Badminton England, who had taken time out of his busy schedule to come and watch what has now become an established and popular annual tournament.

Players in the adult competition were soon on court with almost 40 pairings competing for one of five titles.听 Four were won by new pairings, but the Intermediate Mixed was successfully defended (again) by Jo Francis and Peter Arnold.

We look forward to seeing everyone, and new faces of course, next year.
