This is a good stringless variety with straight, flat pods which have a distinct flavour. It also shows good resistance to common bean mosaic virus. Sow seeds from April to June, and harvest beans from mid-June onwards. As it is a climbing variety, plants need to be given support, such as a wigwam of canes. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
