'Purple Teepee' is a high yielding variety with colourful purple pods. The round beans are stringless when young and up to 15cm (6in) long. Grow them in a sunny, sheltered spot in well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter added. Always keep your bean plants weed free and well watered, especially during dry spells. Sow the seeds from mid March under cloches, or from late April in rows 60cm (2ft) apart. Beans should be ready to harvest within 12 to 14 weeks after sowing.
