A charming perennial which has branched heads of neat pincushion flowers surrounded by a ruff of greenish white bracts in summer. It does best in a moist soil and will make good ground cover if planted as a group. Self-sown seedlings often appear around the parent plant which can be transplanted to another part of the garden or given to friends. Cut off the old flower stems and foliage when the plant starts to die back in late autumn.
