Found growing in the wild in eastern North America where it shoots up by streams and riverbanks, in marshes and wet meadows, this plant makes a lively summer show in the garden with its star-like white flowers. In fact it doesn't have any petals, and is made up of stamens. The better the conditions, the taller it gets. If it's grown in full sun, make sure that the soil doesn't dry out.
