A tall, graceful, evergreen, Mexican plant for growing at the sides of ponds where it shoots up to head high. The near oval leaves stand out because they are grey-green with a white dusting on the surface. There are also small violet flowers in summer followed by attractive seed heads. You'll need a large aquatic basket placed about 15cm under water, with a natural pond, grow it in the muddy margins. In areas where the winter temperature can hit 50C plant up to 30cm deep and it should survive though the leaves will be killed off until the new growth appears in the spring.
