A superb plant with white flowers from early to midsummer, whose species parent comes from Asia where it grows in marshes and at the edge of lakes and streams. 'Snowdrift' therefore needs to be grown in an aquatic basket and sunk in the shallow (but never deep) water at the edge of a pond. If extra plants are required, 'Variegata' has white striped leaves and blue flowers, and creates quite a colourful show when mingled with 'Snowdrift'.
