Hamamelis are grown for their attractive flowers, which are produced in late winter and early spring, when most other plants are dormant. 'Pallida' is one of the best varieties to choose, producing multiple clusters of brilliant yellow blooms that clothe the bare branches. It needs an acid soil to thrive but can also be grown in large containers. Hamamelis are slow growing shrubs but will eventually form a large open shrubs.
