Sweet peppers are great for summer salads. They are best grown in a glasshouse or conservatory, but can be grown outdoors in a sunny, sheltered position. 'Big Banana' is a sweet, juicy chilli that produces crisp fruits up to 25cm (10in) long and 5cm (2in) wide. The green skin ripens to a shiny scarlet.
