Taste like Chocolate

Manchester foursome The 1975 blend indie sunshine hooks with 1980s white pop-funk.

After honing their craft for years, releasing material under various names including Talkhouse, The Slowdown, Bigsleep, and Drive Like I Do, the band eventually chose the 1975 from a book that singer Matthew Healy found in Majorca.

The band made their first official live appearance in January 2012, after signing to UK indie Dirty Hit. Their first EP, ‘Facedown’, arrived in August 2012 saw the band's first UK airplay on national radio with lead track ‘The City’, featured on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Introducing.

They found mainstream chart success in spring 2013 with third single ‘Chocolate’, which reached number 19 in the UK singles chart.
Their eponymous debut album was released in September last year and shot to number one in the charts.

The 1975 made a triumphant start to 2014 with three sold-out nights at Brixton Academy and a night at the Royal Albert Hall in April. They also spent time on the road in the UK and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, mainland Europe and North America.
