Southend's show stealers

Last year, The Horrors took centre stage on one of Glastonbury’s smaller stages when they headlined The Park drawing a huge crowd away from the likes of Portishead and Arctic Monkeys. And it wasn’t a surprise, either - the stock of the Southend-On-Sea band has risen with every album since their 2006 debut, Strange House. Current record Luminous and third album Primary Colours illustrating a band at the top of their game and more capable of evolution than perhaps they were first given credit for.

Their epic shoegazing rock is atmospheric and hypnotic. Frontman Faris Badwan cuts a picture of cool during every performance with his swirling mop of hair just one of many feasts for the senses on show.
