About this Concert
The air shimmers, and a horn calls softly in the distance. Is there a more magical beginning to any symphony than the vista that opens Bruckner鈥檚 Fourth? No wonder he called it 鈥淩omantic鈥.
Bruckner imagined a story of knights, forests and castles, but he preferred to let the music speak for itself, and in this closing concert to the 成人快手 SSO鈥檚 2025/26 season Ryan Wigglesworth will let it do exactly that. It鈥檚 a world away from the spiritual intimacy of Bruckner鈥檚 sacred music 鈥 sung tonight by the 成人快手 Singers 鈥 and the bridge is a new version of Wigglesworth鈥檚 own powerful Magnificat, sung by its dedicatee Sophie Bevan. Bachtrack admired its 鈥淗eaven-meets-earth choral harmonies鈥 鈥 but hear for yourself today.
