About This Event

The 成人快手 Singers, under the sensational Sofi Jeannin - their Chief Conductor since 2018 - bring music of richness and depth in their Edinburgh International Festival recital. Frank Martin鈥檚 Mass for Double Choir is one of his most personal and intimate works, full of sinuous melodies, while Mendelssohn charts the church year in his majestic Motets, Op 79.

Violinist Laura Samuel, the 成人快手 Scottish Symphony Orchestra鈥檚 leader, joins the choir for the exquisite expansiveness of Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds鈥 Ancient Prairie, as well as Paul Drayton鈥檚 mystical reimagining of Vaughan Williams鈥檚 The Lark Ascending, for violin and wordless chorus. Jeannin closes the concert with Norwegian composer Cecilie Ore鈥檚 witty setting of the witches鈥 spell from Shakespeare鈥檚 Macbeth, Toil and Trouble.

Listen live on 成人快手 Radio 3 on Tue 9 Aug from 11am.
