We鈥檙e off to the wilds of Scandinavia! Northern Lights, midnight sun and a smorgasbord of Nordic greats. Chief Conductor John Storg氓rds has a natural affinity with this music and is the dedicatee of tonight鈥檚 opener, the thrilling, most recent symphony of Danish composer Per N酶rg氓rd, a mind-bending kaleidoscope for large orchestra.

Paul Lewis returns to perform a colossus of the solo repertoire 鈥� Beethoven鈥檚 Fifth Piano Concerto, 鈥楨mperor鈥�.

Finally, Sibelius鈥檚 Third Symphony. John Storg氓rds has been called a 鈥榤aster architect鈥� of this great symphonist, as revealed in his recorded cycle of all the symphonies with the orchestra. The synergy between these two Finns is, quite simply unmissable.
