From silence, music is born: at the London Jazz Festival, composer Miho Hazama, guitarist Rob Luft and the 成人快手 Concert Orchestra take a very personal journey into their shared jazz roots.
She鈥檚 been called 鈥渁 breath of fresh air鈥�, and Miho Hazama is one of the most energising (and talked-about) figures in contemporary jazz. Best-known for her work with Metropole Orkest, today she brings the 成人快手 Concert Orchestra to the London Jazz Festival, joining guitarist (and former 成人快手 New Generation Artist) Rob Luft in a programme as eclectic and as vibrant as Hazama herself.
Expect a freewheeling journey through multiple musical worlds, from Toshio Akiyoshi to Duke Ellington by way of a newly commissioned electric guitar concerto from Luft himself: 鈥渁 homage鈥�, he says, 鈥渢o some of my idols of 20th century British jazz - musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, John McLaughlin and Dave Holland鈥�.
