Concert Information

Minimalism master Terry Riley changed the face of 20th century music with his landmark IN C. His organ concerto At the Royal Majestic, performed by the extravagant and extraordinary virtuoso Cameron Carpenter, is a whirlwind of cosmic cartoons, chaos and symmetry and religious enlightenment.

An American original, Charles Ives鈥檚 music is a melting pot of nostalgic influences and complex harmonies, and his third symphony is no exception. Cameron Carpenter performs Ives鈥檚 musical sketch of Louisa May Alcott and her father Bronson from his Concord Sonata.

John Luther Adams creates sonic soundscapes inspired by nature and the landscape of Alaska. With its blend of orchestra and electronics Dark Waves evokes a vast rolling sea.

Philip Glass鈥檚 ability to create mesmerising worlds of sound is second to none. His first work for full orchestra, The Light is a captivating portrait of the moment science moved into the modern age.
