About this film
We performed Macbeth in the Shakespeare Schools Festival originally because our Year 9 pupils were studying the play for SATS. We focussed on the idea of things not being what they seemed, and a protagonist beseiged by confusion. For example, Macbeth's servants become witches, and the witches the dryads who inhabitied and personified Birnam Wood. They are clothed in the colours of the woodland.
In our 60 Second photostory version, we wanted to encapsulate the complete story within the same key theme. Many of the captions are therefore oxymorons, or contain references to the deceptive nature of appearances. We had a fantastic time throughout the whole project, and have already signed up for next year's festival!
