Who's On Air?You are in: Devon > 成人快手 Radio Devon > Who's On Air? > Pippa Quelch 成人快手 Radio Devon's Pippa Quelch Pippa Quelch成人快手-grown in Devon, Pippa wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world - apart from Daniel Craig's house perhaps... MORE FROM PIPPA: After University in Southampton and a brief stint as a banker, Pippa freelanced as a presenter for 成人快手 South West before joining the news team. She spends much of the working week producing features for her Saturday and Sunday breakfast shows. During her time with the 成人快手, Pippa has had the opportunity to travel as far as Texas, Oman and New England to make programmes for the 成人快手's Faith and Ethics department. Pippa's moving documentary, "Beyond Redemption", about a Texas death row prisoner writing to a Devon nun, won The Christian Broadcasting Council's Gold Award for best programme. In 2006, Pippa was presented with the Gillard Gold Award for religious programming. She describes her work in faith broadcasting as "the most fascinating and rewarding" of her career and firmly believes in having an open mind and a willingness to respect all honestly held beliefs. Her quest for a deeper understanding of religion and spirituality has led her to try Buddhist meditation, visit a witch's coven and to undergo past-life therapy during which she "regressed" to the life of a dwarf actor who played a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland! Away from the studio Pippa likes to spend time walking on Dartmoor and exploring spooky old historic buildings with her partner who she met a few years ago while recording a radio documentary about ghosts. Sarah Chesters takes your gardening calls. Pippa made the move from Plymouth city flat to country farm cottage at the end of 2008 and now lives South Brent, surrounded by ponies, sheep and alpacas. Since moving Pippa has spent a good deal of her free time feeding the feathered and furry things that find their way into her garden, hoovering farmyard muck off the hall carpet and failing to master Aga cookery. Every Sunday Pippa sprints down to the bottom of the 成人快手 garden to join horticultural expert Sarah Chesters in "The Potting Shed" and answer questions about anything from wilting wisteria to the misery of molehills. In 2006 Pippa and Sarah won the Garden Writers' Guild Gold Award for best radio programme, for their documentary "It's All Gone Pear-Shaped." Lines for the Potting Shed open at 8am each Sunday on 0845 301 1034 or you can email a question in advance: pottingshed@bbc.co.uk last updated: 12/01/2009 at 11:56 You are in: Devon > 成人快手 Radio Devon > Who's On Air? > Pippa Quelch |
