They're a band who'll always be linked with Chris Evans in his pomp, the euphoria and crushing disappointment of Euro '96 and of course, the Brit Pop phenomenon. Yes Ocean Colour Scene were one of the biggest British bands of the nineties and they rolled out the classics for a low-key acoustic gig in Derby. Frontman Simon Fowler and drummer/pianist Oscar Harrison played The Venue on Abbey Street on Thurday, 27th September as part of their unplugged tour of the UK. Bursting onto the scene in 1996 after their track 'Riverboat Song' was used as the theme to Chris Evans's TFI Friday, the group went on to score 11 top 20 hits and sold a million copies of debut album 'Moseley Shoals'.
