It's a big week for Derby's Lost Alone as they compete for 'Best British Newcomer' at the Kerrang awards. The rock trio are up against four other bands for the prestigious prize which will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday. It's an exciting endorsement for the band, whose debut album 'Say No To The World' has been receiving warm reviews in the music press. Lead singer Steven Battelle said: "It's an indication to us that we're actually doing something. We didn't expect the nomination but it's made us very happy. "It's great that people are starting to take notice. The gigs have been getting really intense and we've had brilliant crowds with people knowing the songs and wearing our t-shirts. "We don't expect to win the award but it's just nice to be getting some recognition from a magazine we've all been reading since we were at school." Hey look - the 成人快手 Radio Derby building! The group was formed two years ago, although Steven and drummer Mark Gibson have been playing in bands together for several years. The trio was completed when the pair met bassist Tom Kitchen at a Beats Capri gig in Nottingham and now their infectious brand of anthemic rock has started attracting a big fan base. They've played several festivals including Download, Germany's Rock Am Ring and Bochum Festivals and supported My Chemical Romance in Dublin. They've also recorded a promo video for their track 'Unleash the Sands of All-Time' at several locations in Derby city centre (including outside the 成人快手 Radio Derby building!)
