Former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade is the star guest at this year's Bloodstock festival at Catton Hall.

Organisers of the metal festival are flying him in especially to open proceedings with a drum solo followed by covers of classic AC/DC tracks.

Slade played with the band from 1989-1993 and has also worked with Gary Numan, Olivia Newton-John, Tom Jones and Dave Gilmour.

He'll be joined by 54 bands including Lacuna Coil, Testament and In Flames at this year's festival which has a capped capacity of 7,000 people.

Taking place between Thursday 16th August and Sunday 18th August, the event also features two unsigned band stages, a metal market and karaoke.

There's also a Bloodstock signing tent where music fans get autographs from their favourite bands and have their photo taken with the Star Wars Storm Troopers.
