With such a strong line-up, this years Global Gathering was set to be a good one. In its 8th consecutive year, over 50,000 clubbers, dancers and ravers attended the jam-packed music festival. Mainstream artists who performed included The Prodigy, David Guetta and Eric Prydz. After a long wait at the entrance, the excited crowds were let in to pitch their tents and start enjoying all the festival had to offer. This included 8 stages, a fairground and stalls selling UV goodies and offering face painting to everyone. Drum and bassWith over 100 performers taking to the stage, festival goers were spoilt for choice during the weekend. With the acts delivering the best performances in dance, trance, drum and bass and electro, the audiences were not disappointed and the atmosphere never dropped. Friday night saw David Guetta and Paul Van Dyk performing on the Godskitchen stage. With it being one of the biggest stages at the festival, there was a strong atmosphere inside the marquee. A large majority of the audience had glow sticks and whistles, making it look - and sound - electric. Both performances were energetic and delivered a high energy to the audience.听 Also performing on Friday's Main Stage were Fedde le Grand and The Prodigy. Both performances had huge crowds watching them, but it was The Prodigy who really stole the show. With them drawing in the biggest crowd, security were bombarded with people climbing barriers and pushing other festival goers. The Prodigy performed to their usual high level, with latest single Warriors Dance receiving a gleaming response from the audience. PendulumPendulum performed on the Global stage after The Prodigy had finished their set, and they definitely brought in the crowd for their performance. The tent was absolutely rammed with fans and Pendulum certainly delivered for them. They gave the most energetic performance of the weekend and had an intense reception from the audience. Saturday鈥檚 highlights were electro gods Orbital on the main stage and drum and bass duo Chase and Status on the Random Concept stage. Orbital used fantastic graphics and delivered an impressive light show to accompany their high energy set. Chase and Status performed hits Take me Away and Against all odds to their huge fan base. Tommy SparksIndie-electro rockers Tommy Sparks, Frankmusik and Does it offend you yeah? performed on the Live Stage on Saturday, offering a more instrumental based set of performances. Their sets appealed to those at the festival who like their indie music with a touch of electro. After the partying finally ceased at around 6am Sunday morning, all that was left to do was for everyone to pack up their tents and head home.
