Living History: Celebrating South Asian Migration is an art exhibition currently running in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Coventry & Warwickshire Open Centre. Students from Sidney Stringer School in Coventry and community elders have worked with local visual artist Claire Spooner to create abstract pieces of art, which will be on display within the exhibition. After undertaking interviews with the senior citizens, and developing their interest in the stories shared, the Year 9 art students produced work in acrylics in order to explore the emotional journeys undertaken by the elders in coming to Coventry. The exhibition will be on display at the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Coventry & Warwickshire Open Centre in Priory Place from 27 July until 14 August, before moving on to its final venue in East London.During this time the exhibition will be open to the public from 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 1pm on Saturday. Entry is free. The Living History exhibition has been produced by Rifco Arts with the support of the Heritage Lottery fund.last updated: 03/08/07 You are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Open Centre > Art celebrates Asian migration |
