Jaskharan's Diary

Hi, I’m Jaskharan the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Blast arts reporter of 2007 for Coventry and Warwickshire. Check out what what I've been getting up to this week.

So it’s the end of ten wonderful weeks, and what (excuse the pun) a blast I have had!

I just can’t believe how quickly my ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ experience has come and gone but you know what they say ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ and boy that is so true.

Although it was my last week I didn’t stop scouring the internet and newspapers for my last few features and I’d like to think I got some good ones.

To start with I went along to meet a local artist who made sculptures of animals made entirely from plastic bottles and crisp packets and other bits and pieces of rubbish that you would find lying about the house.

And today I joined in with a jewellery making workshop in the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Open Centre hosted by another local artist Helen Woodward.

Hard-Fi

Hard-Fi

And not forgetting, Hard-Fi last Friday night were amazing. They most definitely didn’t disappoint… until the very end. To cut a long story short we were promised an interview with the band after the gig and for some reason or other that didn’t happen.Ìý We were given every excuse under the sun for why we couldn’t meet them but we didn’t take no for an answer, I even tried to sneak into the dressing room. Unfortunately the giant-like body guards managed to move us along and we left the Colosseum feeling very let down indeed.

Apart from that little ‘blip’ my time here has been brilliant and I’ll be really sad to leave. And I just want to say thanks to everyone here for being so friendly and making me feel so at home. If it wasn’t for all you guys it just wouldn’t have been half as much fun-gosh I think this is going to turn into a bit of a Gwyneth Paltrow speech in a minute if I don’t stop.

So who knows, maybe you’ll see me again and if not well it’s been nice knowing you all and goodbye my friends!
