Karol Lyjak and Norbert Nowotnik show a sense of humour and a genuine tenderness for their new city in these brief explorations on the theme. Immigration is a pressing issue in Coventry, where new arrivals are contributing to the city鈥檚 long history of international links, multi-culturalism and economic shifts. Thoughts on what it is to be English Karol Lyjak has lived in Coventry for 2 years, working as an assistant manager in a restaurant. He has a Masters in Philosophy and in Poland he was the president of a Student鈥檚 Movie Studio for 5 years. Norbert Nowotnik also studied with Karol and was a member of the Movie Studio before going on to make feature lifestyle videos for one of the biggest commercial TV companies in Poland.
