The Lady Godiva Half Marathon had its second year in 2006, attracting around 2,500 participants. In its first year there were approximately 1,900 runners and this growth is set to continue.

There to capture the event were City College media students Joe Hickey, Roland Broadley and Hope Spivey. They filmed and edited this video to share the build-up and excitement of the day.

The video gives you a brief insight into the event that took place in 2006. It looks at some of the participants and follows the race through the various stages from beginning to end.

The production also talks to one of the event helpers who said improvements had been made for the year鈥檚 event, compared to 2005.

For the production team, making this video was a major challenge and steep learning curve because it was their first major news production. It听 required a lot of pre-production and planning because there was so much to cover in a very short time. The film crew almost ran the whole route themselves!
